zeronet uses cryptography (bitcoin library) and bittorrent dht (centralized trackers) to build a distributed censorshipresistant network.
users can publish static or dynamic sites/applications into zeronet and visitors can choose to also serve the application/site. sites /applications will remain online even if it is being served by only 1 peer.
when a site/app is updated by its owner, all nodes (including previous visitors) serving that site/app, will receive only the incremental updates done to the site content (and in real time).
zeronet counts with a buildin sqlite database. this makes contentheavy site development easy. the database is also synced with hosting nodes with incremental updates.
IPFS is a global, versioned, peer-to-peer filesystem. It combines good ideas from Git, BitTorrent, Kademlia, SFS, and the web. It is like a single bittorrent swarm, exchanging git objects.
GNUnet is a framework for secure peer-to-peer networking that does not use any centralized or otherwise trusted services. A first service implemented on top of the networking layer allows anonymous censorship-resistant file-sharing.
Project Maelstrom is a torrent-based distributed web browser developed by BitTorrent, Inc. It's a fork of Chromium that uses P2P to load torrents and render webpages.
Dat is the non-profit, secure, and distributed package manager for data. Dat can be used to version data locally, or to share and sync data over the internet.
