wordiamo introduces the concept of islands and bridges. in doing so, it addresses issues that have long frustrated players of scrabble and words with friends. now instead of proclaiming that you have a great word but nowhere to connect it, just play it as an island and connect it later. now if your opponent has an early lead, he or she cannot easily play defensively and win by shutting down the board.
