notal is a simple application that lets you take notes with markdown style!with notal, you can type your notes with plain markdown text and enjoy reading with a clean, simple style. if you aren't familiar with markdown, we encourage you take a look at this new trend on writing and reading your notes.

markdown is a lightweight markup language, originally created by john gruber and aaron swartz allowing people "to write using an easytoread, easytowrite plain text format, then convert it to structurally valid html". the language takes many cues from existing conventions for marking up plain text in email.

**note:** the external file viewer is disabled by default. in order to open external text or markdown files you need to enable it from the preferences screen first.
