company overview
the founders of my town circle have been long time friends since meeting in college. they got into business together when one of them approached the other with the idea for a business he termed a “virtual version of your local coffee shop communal corkboard,” later settling for the ring of my town circle.
the idea came in the fall of 2012 after one of the cofounders had recently moved to denver following graduation and was confronted with the question how do you meet people in a new city? in college, associations like sports, clubs, dorms and classes offered a perfect bubble through which to meet new people around similar interests.
by allowing users to explore and post local events, groups and hobbies, my town circle hopes to reintroduce people to their locale in ways they have never experienced before, or for people new to area, develop roots and meet people around with similar interests. you just might develop new hobbies or tastes along the way. whether you are looking for a book club to join, a walking group to keep you in shape, or you wish to discuss of comics with other aficionados in your city over lunch, my town circle can offer that and so much more.
