if you are already regulating your diet and you already know or can easily work out the calories in the food that you eat, then you do not want to be sifting through pages and pages of food database entries just to find the particular brand of corn flakes you have just eaten for the small reward of not having to type the calories in too.

what's more, you never have to type the same meal twice. for example, once you've added corn flakes for 300 calories on a monday, you can then add that same again on tuesday with a couple of taps and without having to retype it in.
